Divine Marathon on Vaikunta Ekadasi at New Delhi Temples

Bhagawadas in the national capital region participated in a divine marathon on Vaikunta Ekadasi (January 5, 2012).

They started their morning with the opening of vaikunta vasal at Sri Vaikuntanathji Mandir in Ber Sarai. The vaikunta vasalĀ opened sharp at 5.55 am as per schedule. Sri Ranganathar (utsavar) in vairamudi alankaram was ready on his Garudan to bless all the Bhaktas, who were assembled in large numbers both inside and outside the vasal to witness the sacred event. After the opening of the vasal, Sri Ranganathar was taken out in procession around the koil prakaram. Thereafter, bhaktas were allowed to give archana sevai to the utsavar. Meanwhile, Moolavar, Sri Vaikuntanathar along with his ubhaya nachiyars, Sri Ranganayaki nachiyar and Andal nachiyar Ā gave muthangi sevai to the Bhaktas, who were awestruck by Their beauty.

Bhagawadas then swiftly reached Sri Ram Mandir, in Lodhi Road, where the opening of Vaikunta vasal took place at 7.30 am. Sri Ramar and Sita piratti (utsavars) were taken out in a procession through the Vaikunta vasal around the koil prakaram.

Then, the Bhagawadas reached Ā Sri Venkateswara Mandir at R.K.Puram, where Srinivasar (utsavar) was taken out in aĀ procession on Garuda vahanam in and around the area.

Coming back to Sri Vaikuntanathar temple, at 12.30 pm, thirumanjanam was performed to Sri Ranganathar along with his ubhaya nachiyars. Subsequently, the utsavar and nachiyars also adorned the muthangi to give a mesmirising sevai to HisĀ Bhaktas. The vaikunta vasal was open throughout the day.

On the previous evening (January 4, 2012), purappadu of Sri Ranganathar (utsavar) in Nachiyar Thirukolam around the koil prakaram took place.
