Laksharchanai for Prahladha Narasimhar at Rajendram 2013-16

On December 27, 2013; Vijaya Varusha Margazhi Chitrai, several devotees from Srirangam had the fortune of being recepients of PrahaladaNarasimha’s mercy and grace at Rajendram, situated 26 km from Trichy on National Highway 67 towards Karur is a beautiful village on the banks of Kaveri canal.

At about 10 am, Thirumanjanam was performed by Aradhakar swami of Srirangam Sri Ahobila Muth Sri Kuruchi Rangaraja swami. Twentyfive devotees performed laksharchanai and the puja concluded with theertham, Sri Sathari and prasadam distribution (pulihore, kalkandu sadam and dadhiannam).

Sri Nathamuni Thathachari, native of Rajendram belonging to the illustrous Koti Kannikadhanam lineage, was residing in Mumbai when he was inflicted with severe stomachache which did not respond to medical treatment. One night Prahalada Narasimhar appeared in his dream and revealed the spot where He was and said that if a temple was built for Him his stomach ailment would go. He called his elder brother Tirumalai Thathachariar who took immediate steps and built a small temple for the Lord who was lying on bare sand. This Perumal was originally from Kerala. Sri Krishnaswami Thathachariar established the temple in 1925 and did several kainkaryams.

Then in 2012 the descendants of this family who underwent some troubles consulted an astrologer (prisnam). It was revealed that  the family temple was in a bad shape and  had to be restored. All opposition would be removed and once started help would flow from all quarters. SrinivasaThathachariar (Retd Income Tax officer-Trichy) undertook restoration work with funds contributed by family members  and volunteers. On June 21, 2013, Samprokhanam was done for the temple. Mandala Abhishekam was done for 48 days. Moolavar is Sri Prahalada Narasimha and Utsavar is SriLakshmiNrisimha. Swami is Varaprasadhi and removes the troubles of His devotees. Those visiting Srirangam can visit and be blessed by the Bhaktha Priyan.

  2. We stayed in Kulitalai from 1973 to 1982, but we were not aware of this temple. Missed it. Hope to worship there. Narasimhan, Chennai.
