Sri Ramanavami Brahmotsavam commenced at Sri Kothandaramaswamy Temple, Vaduvur, on April 8th, 2014. On Day 8 (April 15, 2014), purappadu for Sri Ramar took place in Vennai Thazhi Kannan thirukolam in the morning and on Kudhirai Vahanam in the evening. While the morning alankaram depicts Sri Ramar as a child, sitting and enjoying a pot full of butter (vennai thazhi), in the evening, Aswa (Horse) vahanam symbolises the forthcoming Kalki Avathara.
On the following day, marking Day 9 of the utsavam (April 16, 2014), the grand Thiruther took place in the evening. The event started in the morning at 10 am with Veedhi Ula (procession) to the ratham. From the morning to evening 4:30 pm, Divya Dampathi along with Ilaya Perumal provided darshan to all the devotees from the ratham (ther). Panagam, Neer more (buttermilk) was distributed to the devotees during the time.
In the evening around 4:30 pm, it became a festive mood with the Ratham being pulled by the local and others from the region. There was a huge gatherings of devotees across India along with media persons, to visit this auspicious event
