Today, June 2nd 2014, Jaya Varusha Vaikasi Poosam; HH 45th Srimath Azhagiyasingar’s Brindavana Samprokshanam and Shila Vigraha Pradhishtai was conducted near Dasavathara Sannadhi at Ahobila Mutt, Srirangam in the Presence of HH 46th Srimath Azhagiyasingar of Sri Ahobila Mutt, Srimad Srivan Satakopa Sri Ranganatha Yatindra Mahadesikan.
A year is going to be over since 45th Srimadh Azhagiasingar ascended to paramapadam. We remember those days at SriRangam which were filled with anxiety and recollect vividly the happenings of those days. Is it ever possible to forget H.H.? He put SriAhobila Muth on a firm footing and systemised the administration. He had the wisdom to place it in the hands of a competant successor. What we ordinary shisyas cannot forget is the way in which H.H. made us feel comfortable. He would ask us to eat, He would enquire about the well-being of family members and pray for our problems.
We saw the Brindavanam come up in stages and near completion. We marvelled at the artistry of those at work and observed their creations. We felt overwhelmed to be close to the sacred site. We did pradakshinams and offered prostrations.
What is a Brindavanam? Brindavanams are extremely holy places as they house the mortal remains of yathis along with their aradhya salagramamurthi. Azhagiasingars are walking representatives of Sri LakshmiNrisimha, who are strict adherents of Aacharam and Anushtanam. Their lives have been dedicated to sancharam, continuous rendering of kalakshepams and performing nitya aradhanam to Sri Malolan. Shisyas are blessed with samashrayanam and Bharanyasam daily. One can confide in them and be guided by them. Anything and everything submitted at their feet is crowned with success. There is one thing they bring with them from their poorvashramam and that is their salagramamurthi which accompanies them all the time and are placed on their heads when interred. The Brindavanam is thus a sacred place and many prayers are answered at the Brindavanams of Srimadh Azhagiasingar. At Dasavatharan Sannidhi we have the Brindavanam of 41st Srimadh Azhagiasingar, 44th Srimadh Azhagiasingar as also that of Tillaisthanam Swami. 45th Srimadh Azhagiasingar’s Brindavanam is adjacent to that of 41st Srimadh Azhagiasingar. Actually the Brindavanams of 7 Srimadh Azhagiasingars are in SriRangam and now there are eight but the location of 7th, 8th, 11th, 13th and 18th are not known. At the Brindavanam divyamangalavigraham of Srimadh Azhagiasingar is placed according to agama sastras and daily prasadam offered to the Dasavathara murthis, Tirumangai Azhwar, Swami Desikan and Adhivan Sathakopa Mahadesikan are offered. On the day of their nakshatrams Tirumanjanam is done. Pooratadhi Tirumanjanam is done for 41st Srimadh Azhagiasingar, Hastham for 44th Srimadh Azhagiasingar. It is a great blessing to obtain Sri Sathari at the Brindavanam. Thenceforth one can expect all these to happen at the Brindavanam of 45th Srimadh Azhagiasingar. On this day of Brindavana samprokshanam we offer our dandavath pranams and express our gratitude for being shishyas of Sri Ahoila Muth.
