The annual Brahmotsavams at Sri Govinda Raja Swamy temple, Tirupathi, is scheduled to commence today (June 3, 2014) with Ankurarpanam. This will be followed by a 9-day utsavam between June 4th to 12th. Usually the annual brahmotsavams are performed in the holy month of Vaisakha and Rathotsavam happens to be the most interesting event as it covers over 2km through the main streets of Tirupati encircling the temple. Thousands and thousands of pilgrims and local devotees takes part in this age old event.
