Pancha Samskara Utsavam purapadu 6

Tuesday, 10th September 2013 marks the Pancha Samskara Utsavam at Madurantakam Ramar Temple – Vaghularanya Shethram, near Chennai.  In the month of Avani, on the Sukla Panchami day, Peria Nambigal gave the Samasrayanam or Pancha Samskaram to Swami Ramanuja.

The festival is celebrated every year as the Pancha Samskara Utsavam at Madurantakam. This is the only place where Sri Ramanujar can be seen as a Grihastha (family man). Bakthas can see for themselves the Mandapam (which is within the precinct of the temple madil suvar) where the Pancha Samskaram was performed at this temple.

Pushpa-pallakku purapadu took place in a grand manner with arulicheial  and vedha goshti. Lots of asthiks took part and recieved the blessing of sri Udayavar and Sri Raman

There are sequence of events today at  Madurantakam. The day begins with …

  •  Thirumanjanam for Sri Periya Nambigal & Sri Bhasyakarar
  • Mangalasasanam in all the Sannidhis
  • Panchasamskara Utsavam
  • Upanyasams by Vidwans.
  • Vidwath Sadas focusing on Sri Bhasyam; Bhagavat Vishayam
  • Pushpa-Pallakku Purappadu
