The festivities at Sri Amaruviappan Thirukkoil, Therazhundur, is marked by the twin utsavams of Navarathri and Swami Desikan Thirunakshatram being celebrated at the temple.
As part of the ongoing Swami Desikan Thirunakshatra Mahotsavam which commenced on September 25th, 2014, Days 4 to 6 was celebrated between September 28 to 30, 2014. Swami Desikan had purappadu on Swarna Hamsa Vahanam, Simha Vahanam and Swarna Yanai Vahanam on these days. The utsavam will carry on till Swami Desikan’s Thirunakshatram day this year (October 4, 2013; Purattasi Thiruvonam). Meanwhile, Thayar gave darsanam as Veeralakshmi, Santana Lakshmi and Vijaya Lakshmi on these days. Prior to this, Thayar blessed the devotees as Dhana Lakshmi during day 2 and as Dhaanyalakshmi during day 3.
