As part of the ongoing annual Brahmotsavams, the deity of Lord Govindaraja Swamy was taken in a procession around the temple on May 19th 2016 on ‘Hanumantha Vahanam’ in the morning. Mounted atop the gold-gilded carrier that formed a dazzling halo behind the deity, the bejewelled deity was taken in a procession on the four streets around the temple, which was led by caparisoned elephants and decorated bulls and horses. Bhajan troupes and women performing ‘Kolatam’ added grandeur to the show.
