Maha Tirumanjanam and Thiruveedhi porapadu of Abhista Varadaraja Perumal and Swami Desikan of Kuruchi took place on 19.2.2017 at Kuruchi. The day started with viswaroopa sewai at perumal koil and Swami Desikan Sannidhi with Ghow Phooja. Moolavar Tirumanjanam of Varadaraja Perumal was followed by Perundevi Thayar Ul porapadu with recital of SIRYATHIRUMADAL. Maha thirumanjanam of Varadaraja Perumal, Nammalwar and Swami Desikan was conducted with the recital of Seekshavalli, Bruhuvalli and Anandavalli. Sahasra Dharam with the recital of Purushasuktam was done after the recital of Perumal and Desikan Kattiyam. Tiruvaoimozhi, Ramanuja Noortrndadhi and Desika Prabhandam was recited b Ghosthi from Villiwakkam and Tiruvallikeni, Chennai. This was followed by Periya Sathumarai. Thiruveedhi porapadu of Perumal in Venuopalam Kolam , Nammalwar and Swami Desikan in Thirumangai Mannan kolam was held in the evening. Sripadam from villiwakkam conducted the Thiruveedhi Porapadu along with Magudi and vodam. Perumal Unjell Sewa was held after Porapadu and many devotees sung keerthana for the primal and Thayar.

Unless we involve the local villagers irrespective caste, having faith in our god and religion, these temples can not be maintained well for a long by people from far off places and ultimately perish. In the 1000th year ofSri Ramanujar, time has come for vaishnavas to follow him in true spirit to save our temples in rural areas
