To commemorate the occasion of gifting Bhoga Srinivasa moorthy to the tirumala temple by Pallava queen samavai perundevi in 614 AD, every year a special Sahasra Kalasa Abhishekam is performed in Tirumala. This year it will be conducted on June 24th 2017. The special ritual will be observed at Bangaru Vakili between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m.
In the month of Vaikaasi in the year 614 A.D., the Pallava queen Samavai Perundevi donated 18 inches tall silver archa moorthy of Sri Bhoga Srinivasa to Tirumala temple, which is part of the Pancha Beras and it is also known as ‘Kautuka Bera’ as per Agaamas, also called Manavalapperumal
