Today, June 16, 2017 (Hevilambi Aani Sadayam), Day 3 of the Poosaatral utsavam was celebrated for Sri Kamalavalli Nachiyar, Uraiyur. Sri Kamalavalli Nachiyar adorned beautiful pushpa alankaram on this occasion and had purappadu in the evening.

About the temple
This is one of 108 Divya Desams sung by Thirumangai Azhwar (2 parasurams) and Kulasekhara Azhwar (one pasuram). It is about 4 km from Trichy Junction. The Moolavar at this sthalam is Sri Azhagiya Manavaalan. (Srirangam Utsavar, Namperumal, gets the name Sri Azhagiya Manavalan when he comes to Uraiyur.) He is found in standing position, facing his thirumugham towards north along with Prayoga Chakkaram. Thayaar at this sthalam is Sri Kamalavalli Naachiyaar (Vaasakshmi). Also named as UraiyurValli. She is found in sitting position facing north. The position of the Thaayar is similar to position of a bride who sits along with the groom during marriage. The above positions are called as Thirukalyana Avasaram. Being the avatara sthalam for Thirupaan Azhwar, there is a separate sannadhi for Azhwar. Pushkarani here is known as Sri Kamala Pushkarani, Kalyana Pushkarani, Surya pushkarani and Kudamurutinadhi Pushkarani. The vimanam is Kalyana Vimaanam.
