Today, August 2, 2017 Hevilambi Aadi Anusham, Pavithrotsavam is being celebrated at Sri KrupaSamudra Perumal Divya Desam, Sirupuliyur. In the morning, it included vishesha aradhanam, angurarpanam, purapadu and vedha/prabandha goshti parayanam. Many Devotees participated in the utsavam and took the blessings of the Divya Dampathis.

One of the 108 Divya Desams, Sri KrupaSamudra Perumal Temple (also known as Sri Arulmaakadal Perumal Temple) is located in Sirupuliyur, 15 km south of Mayavaram, in Thiruvarur district of Tamil Nadu. Moolavar is Sri Arulmaakadal Amudam/Sala Sayana Perumal and Thayar is Thirumamagal Nachiyar. Moolavar blesses His devotees in reclining posture or sayana thirukolam on Adiseshan, facing south (like Sri Ranganathar at Srirangam). This makes it the only other Divya Desam where the Lord is in sayana thirukolam facing south. The place is called Sirupuliyur as the Lord gave darshan to sage Vyakra Pada as a little boy or balaka. Thirumangai Azhwar has sung the praise of this perumal in 10 verses of Periya Thirumozhi. Mahasamprokshanam took place on June 21, 2012 after the successful completion of the renovation work at this temple.
