Thirunangur Sri VanPurushothama Perumal Temple Hevilambi Panguni Brahmotsavam: Day 1&2

Sri Van Purusothama Perumal

On 3rd April 2018 (Hevilambi/Swathi), the 2nd day of the Panguni Brahmotsavam was celebrated in a grand manner at Sri Vanpurusothama Perumal Temple, Thirunangur. In the morning, Sri VanPurusothama Nayaki Thayar wore green and peach silk saree and was decorated with Saaya Kondai, Kaasu Maalai, Thattai Padhakkam and jasmine, rose and thulasi garlands. Two golden parrots took shelter on Her shoulders. Grand satrumurai and sevakalam took place with arulicheyal and veda parayana ghosti. Sri VanPurusothama Nayagi gave darshan to the devotees on simha vahanam.

In the evening, Sri VanPurusothama Nayagi sametha Sri VanPurusothama Perumal had great alangarams. He looked like a king with His big crown decorated with pearls and gems. Perumal had purappadu on yaali vahanam. Then He had kaithala sevai. Kaithala sevai means Perumal was taken on a small Kedayam by sri pada thangis and had purappadu.  On that occasion, He was decorated with an attractive white color shawl and jasmine flowers.

Earlier on 2nd April 2018 (Chithirai) Panguni Brahmotsavam commenced in a grand manner with Dwajarohanam (flag hosting). In the morning, Perumal was adorned with violet color vasthram and had beautiful alangaram. He had bow and arrow in his hands. Thayar wore green silk vasthram. DivyaDampathis was decorated beautifully with flower garlands and abharanams. Grand satrumurai and sevakalam took place with arulicheyal and veda parayana ghosti. In the evening Perumal was fully decorated with flowers and abharanams. He wore violet and yellow color vasthram and Thayar wore green color vasthram. Two green parrots perched on Perumal’s shoulders. Along with Lakshman, Sri Purushothama Nayaki sametha Sri VanPurushothaman perumal gave scintillating darshan to the devotees on chandraprabhai. Several astikas participated in the Brahmotsavam and had the blessings of Sri VanPurusothama Perumal.
