On April 12, 2018 (Hevilambi panguni sadayam), the 1st day of 1001th Ramanujar Avatara Utsavam was celebrated grandly at Sri Kothandaramaswamy Udayavar Devasthanam Sri Markandeyar Sannidhi, Alwarpet. This is the 158th such utsavam celebrations at this temple. On this occasion, Sri Ramanujar had beautiful alankaram and gave scintillating darshan to the devotees. After alangaram, Swami Ramanujar had purappadu on Surya prabhai. Several astikas participated in the Utsavam and had the blessings of Swami Ramanujar.
