A 3-day Vedic ritual, held after several decades, concluded last Wednesday at Eramalur Sri Sundhavaradha Lakshminarayana Perumal Sannithi nearby Vandavasi.
Around 6 high priests headed by Sri. Raghunatha Bhattar took part in the “Astabandhana Maha Samprokshanam”, along with 8 Veda Parayana Swamis (2 from each Vedam), 9 Dhivyaprabanda Parayana Swamis. This occasion was well adorned by the presence of eminent scholars like Oragadam Sri.U.VE. Lakshminarasmichariyar, Theyyar Sri.U.VE. Lakshmanacharaiyar, Pulikkundram Sri.U.VE. Sthalasayanachariyar, Sri.U.VE. Nathamunigal swami and Sri.U.VE. Manivannan swami.
The ritual began on the night of September 10 and as part of it priests also performed ‘homams’ in 5’homa gundams’ (fire altars), each one dedicated to a deity, built inside the temple complex for the purpose. The Mahasamprokshanam ritual was performed to Vimana and Moolavar inside the Sanctum Sanctorum on September 12 at 10.30am. Hundreds of devotees from nearby villages thronged at the temple premises to witness this occasion. On the same day, procession of Uthsavar Sri Sundharavaradharaja Perumal in Garudavahanam (Garudasevai) held in a grand manner.

முக்திதரும் நகரேழில் முக்கியமாம் கச்சியம்பதிக்குத் தெற்கே சுகக்ஷேத்ரமான வந்தவாசியிலிருந்து சுமார் 15கிமீ தொலைவில் அமைந்துள்ள எரமலூர் என்னும் ஸ்ரீக்ராமத்தில் பல நூற்றாண்டுகள் பழமைவாய்ந்த ஸ்ரீ சுந்தரவரத லக்ஷ்மீநாராயணப் பெருமாள் ஸன்னிதியின் புனருத்தாரணம் சென்ற 2016ஆம் ஆண்டு நவம்பர் மாதம் (துன்முகி வருடம் கார்த்திகை மாதம்) ஆஸ்திகர்களின் ஆதரவுடன் பாலாலயம் செய்யப்பட்டது. அன்று தொடங்கியத் திருப்பணியானது பல நிலைகளைக் கடந்து சென்ற புதன்கிழமை அன்று (ஆவணி மாதம் 27ஆம் தேதி – 12.09.2018) அன்று மஹாஸம்ப்ரோக்ஷணத்துடன் வெகுவிமர்ஸையாக நிறைவுற்றது. மேற்படி புனருத்தாரண திருப்பணிக்கும் மஹாஸம்ப்ரோக்ஷணத்திற்கும் பல ஆஸ்திகர்கள் யதாசக்தி என்று சிறியளவிலும் பெரியளவிலும் த்ரவ்ய ஸஹாயம் செய்தும், பலவிதங்களில் ஒத்துழைப்பை நல்கியும், வழிகாட்டியும், சரீர உபகாரம் செய்தும் அடியோங்களுக்கு பேருதவி புரிந்துள்ளனர். அத்தகைய ஆஸ்திக பெருமக்கள் அனைவருக்கும் எரமலூர் ஸ்ரீக்ராமத்தின் சார்பிலும், ஸ்ரீகைங்கர்யம் சார்பிலும், புனருத்தாரணப் பொறுப்பேற்றுக் கொண்ட நிர்வாகத்தினர் சார்பிலும் எங்களுடைய க்ருதஜ்ஞதையைத் (நன்றியை) தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம். இந்த கைங்கர்யத்தின் நிமித்தமாக அடியோங்கள் யாரிடத்திலாவது அபசாரப்பட நேர்ந்திருந்தால் அவர்களிடத்தில் அபசார க்ஷமாபனத்தையும் (பொறுத்தருளவேண்டும் என்று) ப்ரார்த்திக்கிறோம்.
