On 21st September 2018 (Vilambi-Purattasi-Sravanam), Swami Desikan’s 750thThirunakshatra Utsavam commenced in a grand manner at Triplicane Ahobila Mutt. Swami Desikan had thiruveethi purappadu in the morning followed by thirumanjanam at noon. In the evening, purappadu for Swami Desikan (paramapadanathan thirukolam) took place well followed by grand satrumurai.
On the next day, (Purattasi-Avittam, September 22), the evening purappadu for Swami Desikan (Kavitharkika Simham) took place on a majestic golden simha vahanam. The Day 3 (Purattasi-Sadayam, September 23) procession took place for Swami Vedanta Desikan on Surya Prabhai. Many astikas participated and received the blessings of Swami Desikan.
