The thirunakshathra mahotsavam of Sri Appachiaranna Swami, one of the ashtadikganjangal of Ponnadikkal Jeer, was celebrated in a grand manner at Srirangam Mudaliandan Swami Thirumaligai on Avani Hastham (which fell on August 31, 2011). In fact, the utsavam was celebrated for eight day from August 25 to September 1, 2011.
Appachiaranna Swami is the descendant of Mudaliandan and occupies the ninth position in the order. He was celebrated as ‘Nam Appachiaranavo’ by Swami Manavala Mamunigal, who directed Swami to seek the thiruvadi sambandham of Ponnadikkal Jeer. Several Asthikas participated in the utsavam and thadheeyaradhanam.
