PAANAKAM

Paanagam (image is suggestive)

Ingredients

Vellam Jaggery 2 cups
Thanneer Water 6 cups
Chukku powder Dried ginger Powdered one tsp
Elimicham Lemon 1 pazham (juice extracted)
Elakkai Cardamom 6-7 peeled & powdered

Method

* Take water in a large vessel
* Completely dissolve the jaggery in it
* Add powdered chukku and cardamom
* Add juice of lemon and mix well

Now its ready to be served to the Lord.

(In the Math, the practice is to make paanakam with kalkandu. To make this, simply dissolve kalkandu (candy) in water and add few strands of saffron).
