The temple committee of Sundapalayam temple, Coimbatore wishes to inform the Celebration of H.H.SRIMATH PERIANDAVAN THIRUNAKSHATHIRAM at temple premises on 05-03-2012. The Temple has the pride of having both Moolavar and Utsavar Vigrahaam of Srimath Periandavan.
The Progamme: In the morning the Thirumanjanam of Utsava Perumal along with Srimath Periandavan,Sevakalam,Thiruppavai satrumurai,Thhertha prasadam,and Ghosti viniyogam will take place. In the evening there will be Sevakalam ,Satrumurai ,Theertha prasadam,and Ghosti viniyogam.
The Importance of the day: The silver satagopa (called Satari), in Komalavalli Thayar- Aravamuda temple at Kumbakonam eulogised by Nammalvar, was brought in exchange for a golden satagopa, in a procession comprising elephants, horses and camels, all the way from Kumbakonam to the precincts of the temple in 1785. The devotees are blessed by this Satari only 4 times in a year, and on this day all devotees will be blessed by this silver satari. Hence we request all the Ashrama shishyas,Abhimanis,and other Devotees are requested to participate along with their families and seek the Blessings of the Perumal and Acharyas.
