About the temple:
Needamagalam Santhana Rama thirukkoil is 30 km from Kumbakonam. Moolavar and utsavar deity are Sri Rama Sita Lakshmana and Anjaneya.

Maharastra king Pratab Singh built the temple in 1761. The place used be also called as Yamunambal in olden days after the queen Yamunambal’s name.The king prayed to Lord Rama and got a child. So this place is famous for married couples wanting to have a child. The theertham here is the saketha tank which is in front of the temple.
