Today the 28th of April 2012, Rangamudi sevai was held at Srirangapatna near Mysore. Sri Ranganatha adorning his Rangamudi attracted thousands of devotees who were able to have His blessings.
The day on which Gautama Rishi first performed worship to the Lord is still celebrated every year as Sri Ranga Jayanti at Srirangapatna. On this day, Thirumanjanam of the Lord is performed and in the evening the Vijaya Vigraha of the Lord with Sri-Devi and Bhu-Devi is taken out on procession. On this day the Lord is adorned with the famous Rangamudi- a special crown studded with diamonds and precious gems.
