Today (May 6, 2012)  Rathotsavam (Thiru Ther uthsavam) took place at Thiruppullani as part of the ongoing Chaithrothsavam. Sri Raman made a record this year. In the past, the Ther used to reach the nilai only in the evening by 4 or 5 pm. In some years, the ther reached even on the second day. Even though, gradually, perumal used to be back within three hours during the recent years. However, it was a different story today. The Diwan, Ramanathapuram Samasthanam, Sri Mahendran, started it by pulling it by exactly 10.45 am and to the surprise of all, the ther did not stop anywhere even for a minute and as if it is a most modern car, the ther ran quite efforlessly and reached the Thiru Ther Nilai by exactly 11.40 am. The scorching sun could not dampen the spirit of the villagers. It was a great experience for all the bhaktas.

  1. The speed with which the photos of events reach the website with excellent quality like a ultra modern car makes one to think your kainkaryam is much more faster than the thiruther reaching its nilai – online. Kudos to the contributor and correspondent who work overtime.
