On the last day of Thirupullani Chaithrothsavam (May 8, 2012), Vidayatri Utsavam was celebrated with Sri Sita Lakshmana Sametha Sri Pattabi Raman gracing Sri Vanamamalai Mandapam by Their visit in the morning where They had an alankara Thirumanjanam. In the evening after Satrumurai, They had a Thiruveethi Purappadu after which They reached Their Asthanam with which the Chaithrothsavam is completed.
This is the only Mandakappadi where Perumal with Pirattimar in Panguni and Sri Raman with Sita and Lakshmanan come out of the temple for mandakappadi. This Vidayatri Mandakappadi is sponsored by Sri Padmasani Thayar Kainkarya Sabha. As a token of thanks for all the great wonderful kainkaryams the Sabha did during 2003 Samprokshanam the Ramanathapuram Samasthanam had extended this mandakappadi which was held inside the temple till 2002. The Sabha is continuing their kainkaryams till now. In fact if at all the temple had several developments in the recent yeras, it is mostly by this Kainkarya Sabha only.
