About the temple:

Budheri is situated 10 kms from Cheyyar on Cheyyar – Arcot Road.

This temple is more than 300 years old.  In those days, a lot of Paramaikanthis (Sri Vaishnava Families) observing the rituals as prescribed in the Sastras were living in the Agraharam where the temple is situated. The temple Lord facing East and both sides of the temple were residences (about 40-50 houses) were there. A small temple then. Slowly the temple premises has been broadened with the Grace of Lord and with the help of Asthikas.

In 1997, a vimanam was constructed for Lord Sri Adhikesavar and Samprokshanam held on 6th July 1997 by Sri Cheema Bhattarswamy(chief Archarkar of Sri Devaraswamy of Kancheepuram (now vaikundavasi) performed the rituals then.

In 2008, a separate sannathi for Goddess Sri Komalavalli was constructed with a vimanam and samprokshanam was performed in the august presence of H H the Jeer of Sri Ahobila Mutt. Originally, only Bhoomi Neeladevi (Ubhaya Nachimar were there for the Lord. When it was decided to construct a separate sannadhi, the present Swamy of HH Andavan Swamy (Sri Mushnam Swamy) selected the name of Goddess Sri Komalavalli to Thayar whose sannadhi was constructed and samprokshanam held on 11th February 2008. Daily Nithyaradhanam being held daily now.

In the olden days Mangalasasanam was held by HH the 41, 42, 43, 44th Jeers of Sri Ahobila Mutt. The 45 th Jeer also visited for the samprokshanam of Thayar Sannadhi and done Mangalasasanam.

Sri Kozhiyalam Swamy, Sri Thirukudanthai Andavan Swamy,Sri Navalpakkam Sri Nrisimhathathachariar swamy (who married his wife from this Village) also done Mangalasasanam to this Lord.

Originally, only very small urchavamurthy of Sri Srivasar with Sridevi & Bhhodevi were in the temple apart from Moovar of Sri Adhikesavar. In 1997, during Samprokshanam for the vimanam of Lord new Urchavamurthy of Sridevi & Bhoodevi and Sri Adhikesavar were prepared and consecreted.

During Thayar Sannadhi samprokshanam for Lord Sri Dhanvathari, prathishtai of Sri Andal and Swami Desikan\(Moolavar) also took place. A separate sannadhi for Sri Anjaneyar was also constructed. Big compound wall for about 4 Grounds sorrounding the temple was constructed.

A separate Mandapam for doing Homam, Thirumanjam has also been established.

This Lord is for removing “Pithru Dosham” and “Chevvai Dosham” which is hearsay from elders of the Village.

This temple is about 30 Kms distance from Kancheepuram. From Kancheepuram we have to take the route to Cheyyar via (Sevilimedu) and turn on the road leading to Iyengarkulam. From there straight if you proceed after about 18 km you will find Perungattur/Hasanamapet. After Hasanamapet, if you proceed on the road about 1 km you will find a cutting road (thar road) and you will also find a board stating “Budheri Pullavakkam” 3 kms. This cutting road is before Vadamanappakam. This is between Perungattur/Hasnamapet and Vadamanapakkam. Otherwise you can go to Cheyyar and take road leading to Arcot – 10 km distance from Cheyyar to Budheri.
