On August 15, 2012, the President of India conferred the Sanskrti Award (Certificate of Honour) to Sri Pazhavari Chakravarthi Satakopachariar Swamin (Paramapadavasi) in recognition of his contribution to Sanskrit.

He was Asthana Vidwan of Sri Ahobila Mutt and a scholar of a very high order. He was a great exponent of Yajur Veda and was adorned with the title ‘Soora Adhyayee’. He was known for his expertise in the doctrines of Visishtaadvaita. He was a most sought-after scholar in various conferences conducted by other Sampradayas as well. He also had wide knowledge in Nalaiyira Divya Prabandham. He produced over 100 Vedic scholars. He had contributed more than 100 articles in various journals and magazines.

The swami attained acharyan thiruvadi this Monday. For details, please visit http://anudinam.org/2012/08/15/sri-u-ve-pazhavari-satakopacharya-swami-attains-acharyan-thiruvadigal/

Another vidwan, Sri Kaniyambakkam Elayavalli Madhusudhanachar Swamy (Dr K E Madhusudanan) was conferred the Maharshi Badrayan Vyas Samman Award by the President on the same day. Aged 35-40, Swami Madhusudhanachar is one of the “youngest recipient” for his contribution in the area of sanskrit. (The Brahma Sutra is attributed to Badarayana — which makes him the proponent of the crest-jewel school of Hindu philosophy, i.e.,Vedanta.) The Swamy is well versed in prouda shastras and also a Lakshanantha Ghanapati. He was born and brought up at Madurantakam and is now a Faculty at Puri.
