The 10-day ThiruPavithrotsavam at Sri Ranganathar Thirukkoil, Srirangam is scheduled to take place from August 27 to September 4, 2012. ThiruPavithrotsavam is conducted to rectify the defects in daily poojas performed to Lord. On the first day, the 365 times thiruvaradhanam is conducted to the utsavar in yagasalai and on the second day, 1008 times thiruvaradhanam is condutced in the sanctum sanctorum for all the divyamangala vigrahams which are fully covered with the sacred holy thread which is named as boocandi sevai (Angobanga Sevai). This utsavam being conducted in Cheranai vendran mandabam alias Pavithra mandabam. This mandabam was established by Jadavarma Sundarapandian.
