Thiruchanoor Kartheeka Brahmotsavam Concludes With Panchami Theerthavari Today

As part of the ongoing Kartheeka Brahmotsavam at Thiruchanoor, Panchami Theerthavari took place in grand manner on the concluding day (today). Devotees participated in large numbers to get thayar’s anugraham on this day.

The Padmasarovaram, the temple tank in the abode of Goddess Padmavati, turned into a sea of devotees with tens of thousands of pilgrims hailing from across the country participating in Panchami Theertham. The religious occasion of Panchami Theertham marks the auspicious birth day and celebration of the manifestation of Sri Padmavati Devi in a Golden Lotus in Padma Sarovaram on Sukla Panchami of Kartheeka month.

Snapana Tirumanjanam(celestial bath with milk, honey, turmeric, coconut water and turmeric) to Sri Sudarshana Chakrattazhwar and the processional deity of Goddess Padmavathi has been performed in a colourful manner in the specially decorated mandapam in the temple tank. While performing puja as per Pancharatra Agama, the priests adorned the deities with specially made Cardamom, Kuruveru(a type rivergrass), American rasp berry, cherry garlands which mesmerizes the devotees.After the end of the hour-long ritual, Sri Sudarshana Chakram was taken into Padma Pushkarini for a holy dip at around 11.45am in the holy Makara Lagnam. Thousands of devotees who have been waiting since morning for this sacred moment took a holy dip in the temple tank along with Chakrathalvar even as the entire premises echoed with the chanting of divine Govinda Nama.

As a token of His Love to His beloved on Her Birth Day, a precious jewel which used to adorn the majestic Lord Malayappa Swamy Varu in Tirumala reached Tiruchanoor specially to be adorned to the processional deity of Goddess Padmavathi Ammavaru today during Panchami Teertham. The temple priests decorated this dazzling jewel which enhanced the beauty and splendor of Goddess Padmavathi Devi.
