Today (December 24, 2012), bhaktas inĀ Delhi and the outskirts delightfully participated in a divine marathon on Vaikunta Ekadasi. This was the second one in this calender year. The first being on January 5, 2012 (for details, please visit http://anudinam.org/2012/01/07/divine-marathon-on-vaikunta-ekadasi-at-new-delhi-temples/).

The dense fog in the air in the morning did not deter bhaktas from travelling from various parts of the national capital region to have darsanam of their own Sri Ranganathar/Vaikuntanathar, Sri Sita Ramar and Sri Venkateswara on this divine day. Crossing the vaikunta vasal along with Perumal would free them from taking any further births!

They started their morning with the opening of vaikunta vasal at Sri Vaikuntanathji Mandir in Ber Sarai. The vaikunta vasalĀ opened sharp at 5.55 am as per schedule. Sri Ranganathar (utsavar) in vairamudi alankaram was ready on his Garudan to bless all the Bhaktas, who were assembled in large numbers both inside and outside the vasal to witness the opening of the vaikunta vasal.

After the opening of the vasal, Sri Ranganathar was taken out in procession around the koil prakaram. Thereafter, bhaktas were allowed to give archana sevai to the utsavar. Meanwhile, Moolavar, Sri Vaikuntanathar along with his ubhaya nachiyars, Sri Ranganayaki nachiyar and Andal nachiyar Ā gave muthangi sevai to the Bhaktas. The moolavar alankaram today was outstanding.

After having a good sevai here, bhaktas swiftly reached Sri Ram Mandir, in Lodhi Road, where the opening of Vaikunta vasal took place at 7.30 am. Swami Nammazhwar and Swami Thirumangai Azhwars were waiting outside the vaikunta vasal for Sita piratti and Sri Ramar (utsavars). After the opening of the vaikunta vasal, deeparadanai was done for Sita Ramar and the Azhwars. Thereafter, pushpa/shadari mariyadai was given to the Azhwars. Ā The utsavars and Azhwars were then taken out in a procession through the Vaikunta vasal around the koil prakaram.

Then, the bhaktas reached Ā Sri Venkateswara Mandir at R.K.Puram, where Srinivasar (utsavar) was taken out in aĀ procession on Garuda vahanam in and around the area. This was followed by thirumanjanam to the utsava moorthies.

Simultaneously, thirumanjanam was performed to Sri Ranganathar along with his ubhaya nachiyars Ā at Sri Vaikuntanathar temple. Subsequently, the utsavar and nachiyars also adorned the muthangi to give a mesmirising sevai to HisĀ Bhaktas. The vaikunta vasal was open throughout the day.

The following are some of the photographs and videos taken in these temples today….
