Tirumala Vasanthotsavam Day 2 & 3

On the second day of Ongoing Three day Annual Vasanthotsavam, the Processional deity of Lord Malayappaswamy flanked by His two consorts Sri Devi and Bhu Devi seated majestically atop dazzling and finely decorated Golden Chariot were taken on a celestial procession around four mada streets at Tirumala on  24th april 2013, Wednesday morning.

Tens of thousands of devotees who congregated all along the mada streets witnessed the colourful procession with religious ecstasy by dragging the chariot around the mada streets encircling the holy shrine chanting Govinda Namas.

The air was charged with the chanting of various names of Lord by the devotees as the procession passed by much to the rhythmic beat of the traditional temple drums.

Thereafter, temple priests of Sri Vari Temple performed ‘SNAPANA TIRUMANJANAM’ (Celestial Bath) to the processional deity of Lord Malayappaswamy and His consorts at Vasantha Mandapam on wednesday afternoon. This was followed by procession of the utsava murthies from Vasantha mandapam to Srivari temple through four mada streets.

It may be noted that TTD has cancelled Kalyanotavam, Unjal Seva, Arjitha Brahmotsavam and Sahasra Deepalankara Seva following Vasanthotsavam.

Today (Arpil 25th, 2013) being the third and final day of the utsavam, Snapana thirumanjanam was conducted for the utsava moothy along with the ubhaya nachiyars at the Vasantha Mandapam from 8 am to 10:30 am.
