Padmavathi Pariyanotsavam at Tirumala

The three-day annual Salakatla Padmavathi Parinayotsavam is being celebrated between 19th of May to 21st of May in Tirumala. TTD has cancelled arjitha sevas like arjitha brahmotsavam,Vasanthotsavam, Sahasra Deepalankara Seva from Monday to Wednesday following the festival.

The processional deity of Lord Malayappa Swamy was taken to the Narayanagiri Gardens on Gaja Vahana on the first day, while His two consorts adorned with special jewels followed Him to the tastefully decorated Narayanagiri Gardens on palanquins.Traditional events which are usually performed during the weddings including welcoming each other(Edurkolu), throwingof floral balls by bride and bridegroom at each other (Pubantata) etc. have been performed which has provided a feast to the eyes of thousands of pilgrims who converged in the gardens to witness the celestial fete daring heavy down pour.

TTD’s Dharma Prachara Parishad and Annamacharya Project organised cultural and devotional programmes in the gardens on this occasion. At the end of the celestial wedding fire crackers were burnt in the open area.

Yesterday, the 20th of May, The Padmavathi Parinayotsava mandapam has been decked up with 12 tonnes of Sugarcane pillars and paddy garlands giving an aesthetic look to the three-day wedding ceremony of Lord Malayappa Swamy with his two consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi.
