Thiruvadipooram Utsavam is being celebrated in a grand manner at Veli Andal Sannidhi, Srirangam. Sri Andal is blessing devotees in different alankarams as part of the utsavam.
On August 3, 2013 (Saturday), Namperumal was at Amma mandapam to bless Kaveri Thayar with Bahumanams on the occasion of Aadi 18 or Padinettam Perukku. While returning to moolasthanam after 8.30 pm, there was Malai Matrudhal at Veli Andal Sannidhi. Exchange of garlands also happens during Panguni utsavam when Namperumal returns from Woraiyur.Yesterday was also Day 4 of the Thiruvadipooram Utsavam. On Days 1 to 3, there was Venugopala Sevai, Andal Alankaram and Gaja Lakshmi Sevai.
This Sannidhi is at Mel Adyavalanjan and is believed to be the place where Andal and Periazhwar stayed before reaching the main garbagraham to Sri Ranganatha. Since the temple is outside the temple premises it is referred to as Veli Andal Sannidhi.
