Today, August 8, 2013; Vijaya Varusha Aadi Makam, HH 46th Srimath Azhagiyasingar Srivan Sathakopa Sri Ranganatha Yathindra Maha Desikan observed the 18th day of the Chathurmasya Vratham.
Makam is the constellation under which HH 46th Srimath Azhagiyasingar took avatharam in Manmatha Varusham, Aani masam (June 23, 1955). He was called to Sanyasashramam on Narasimha Jayanthi day on May 8th 2009. Srimath Azhagiyasingar was given the Thirunamam of Sri Ranganatha Yathindra Mahadesikan. Srimath Azhagiyasingar had His Pattabhishekam on Vijaya Vaikasi Swathi (May 23, 2013) in Srirangam. It is no coincidence that both Ashrama Sweekaram and Patabhishekam have happened on Swathi and in Srirangam. Both Sri Nrisimhan and SriRanganathan seem to vie with each other to bless Srimath Azhagiyasingar. His ascetic Thirunamam is Ranganatha but He is Azhagiya simham. Srimath Azhagiyasingar is the first Agnihotri in the Sri Ahobila Mutt lineage.
Today morning, Abhigamanam happened at the usual time. Theertham and Sri Shatari blessed the devotees and was followed by Prasada viniyogam (Halwa and Dadhiyonam and fruits).
