Yesterday, 29th of August 2013, Vijaya Avani Rohini SriKrishna Jayanthi was celebrated with Dolai at the Sathabhisheka Mandapam at Sri Dasavatharan Sannidhi SriRangam where Srivan Sathakopa Sri Ranganatha Yathindra Maha Desikan is observing Chathurmasya Vratham. At about 7.30pm the music was sounded and the two wooden boxes containing the ornaments of Dolai Kannan and the portable dolai was brought to the mandapam. Kainkaryaparas set up a six legged silver mandapam with silver shanku chakram and Tiruman hanging in the centre. The red velvet curtain was drawn and the dolai was fixed.
Kannan was placed on dolai and adorned with beautiful ornaments and flowers. Srimadh Azhagiasingar came in ceremoniously and sat on the golden simhasanam. The curtain was opened and Srimath Azhagiyasingar did puja to Srimath Bhaghavatha Grantham (book). Akshatai, deepam, dhupam and naivedyam was offered thrice – once in the beginning, during Krishna avatharam and at the end. Srimath Azhagiyasingar read the Sanskrit version and explained it in simple Tamil. After this everyone got manthra akshthai,  dried fruits and flowers. After snanam Srimath Azhagiyasingar did Mangala Harathi at the lagnam when Krishna Avatharam took place and after theertham and Srisathari,  paranai was done.
