Yesterday, Sri Parthasarathy Perumal blessed the devotees in Muthangi Sevai during Pavithrotsavam. Vijaya varusha Pavithrotsavam at Sri Parthasarathy Perumal Thirukkoil, Thiruvallikeni commenced on September 13, 2013 (Friday) with Ankurarpanam. The 7-day utsavam concluded on September 20, 2013 (Friday).
Pavitrotsavam is the most important mahayagnyam in a perumal temple. Its sacred than a Mahasamprokshanam because it eradicates all the doshams in a temple through out the year and fulfills the Thiruvaradhanam of SriBhagawan in that year. Its phalans are innumerous.
During the utsavam this year, utsavar thirumanjanam took place in the morning at 9 am followed by PradhanaHomam at 10.30 am. Poornahuti took place between 11:45 am and 12 noon. In the evening, thiruveedhi purappadu for Utsavar was done at 7.00 pm. Pradhanahomam and poornahuthi at 9:00 pm. On the concluding day, the utsavam went on till 12 midnight.
