Vijaya varusha Pavithrotsavam was held at Kumbakkonam Sri Rajagopala Swami Temple in a grand manner on October 5, 2013. Swami Desikan Thirunakshatram and Navarathri Utsavams also commenced on the same day.
Kumbakonam ThoppuTheru Sri Rajagopal Swami temple was built 1000 years ago. ThoppuTheru is situated near the banks of Arisolaru in Thirukkudanthai. Near the banks of the River Harisol aaru, Sri Rajagopal Swami Temple is situated. In this Temple, the moola moorthy is Setha Ramar with Lakshmanar. One could have darshan of Sri Seetha Sri Ramar as a single thiruvigraham (Sri SeethaRamar a rare to see posture), Ilaya Perumal with pirai chandran and kondrai pushpam. Utsava moorthis in the temple are Sri Rukmini Sri Sathyabhama sametha Sri Rajagoplaswami. Bakthas can have the darshan of Sri Andal, Swami Desikan, Sri Anjaneyar (with a bell in His tail and Sowkandhika flower in His arms, a rare to see moorthy) at this temple. This temple is renovated and Samprokshanam was conducted during the March 2013. During the famous Akshaya Thritheeyai and Vijaya Dasami, Sri Rajagopala Swami purappadu on Garuda Vahanam and Kudhirai Vahanam respectively is being done in a grannd mannar.
