As part of the ongoing Purattasi Brahmotsavam at Tirumala, Day 4 utsavam was celebrated well yesterday (October 8, 2013; Vijaya Varusha Purattasi Visakam). There was Kalpavriksha Vahanam purappadu in the morning and Sarva Bhoopala Vahanam in the evening. Thirumanjanam for Sri Srinivasar and Ubhaya Nachiyars took place in the afternoon.
Today, the garlands adorned by Srivilliputtur Sri Andal (soodina malai) along with pattu vastram and kili (made of leaves) reached from Srivilliputtur to Tirumala. It is customary that Sri Srinivasar will adorn this garland on the fifth day of the ongoing Purattasi Brahmotsavam. On Day 5 (October 9, 2013), the utsavamoorthy will have mada veedhi purappadu in Mohini Avataram in the morning and on Garuda Vahanam in the evening.
Some of the other important utsavams are Thanga Ther on October 10, 2013; Rathotsavam on October 12, 2013: and Chakrasnanam on October 13, 2013. Several hundreds of devotees from across the country and outside visit Tirumala for this utsavam. Recently on September 30, 2013, Therottam for the Noothana Swarna Ratham took place well whereby the golden chariot was taken on a procession along four mada streets and kept inside the newly constructed Swarnaratha mandapam behind Vahana Mandapam.
