As part of the ongoing Purattasi Brahmotsavam at Tirumala, Day 6 utsavam was celebrated in a grand manner today (October 10, 2013; Vijaya Varusha Purattasi Anusham). There was Hanumantha Vahanam purappadu in the morning and the Gaja Vahanam in the evening. Swarna Ratha Purappadu for Sri Srinivasar and Ubhaya Nachiyars took place in the afternoon. Several lakhs of devotees took part in the utsavam today.

This year (Vijaya Varusham), the Brahmotsavam commenced on October 5, 2013 (Saturday) with Dwajarohanam and will conclude on October 13, 2013. Ankurarpana and Senadhipati (Vishvaksenar) Utsavam took place on the day preceding day of Day 1 (October 4, 2013). Some of the other important utsavams are Thanga Ther on October 10, 2013; Rathotsavam on October 12, 2013: and Chakrasnanam on October 13, 2013. Several hundreds of devotees from across the country and outside visit Tirumala for this utsavam. Recently on September 30, 2013, Therottam for the Noothana Swarna Ratham took place well whereby the golden chariot was taken on a procession along four mada streets and kept inside the newly constructed Swarnaratha mandapam behind Vahana Mandapam.
