Swami Desikan’s greatness was such that it is not possible for anyone to do justice to it. All we can try to do is remember Swami Desikan daily and read and learn Swami’s works and try to emulate Swami who lived a simple yet lofty life. Like Sri Rama Swami lived in Dharma and like Sri Krishna Swami had Saulabhyam but Swami being Lord Srinivasa was an ocean of mercy who by His writings has documented and explained Vishishtadvaitha in a simple yet lofty manner to reach the masses. Swami Desikan’s Smaranam alone will wipe our sins and lead us to reach Paramapadam by the means of Bharanyasam. These are some of the photos taken during concludine day of Swami Desikan Utsavam.
On Vijaya Aippasi Uthirratadhi, 17 October, 2013 was the concluding day of Swami Desikan’s 746th Tirunakshatra Mahotsavam at Ul Desikan SriRangam. At 5.30p.m. Gadya Traya Parayanam started. It was chanted clearly and slowly and men and women joined in synchronisation. We were reminded of Panguni Uthiram day and of Ramanujacharya who offered it at the feet of Nammperumal and Ranganachiyar . As Saranagathi Margam is Swami Desikan’s route to Sri Vaikuntam and Mithunam is the upayam and Acharya is the one who does Bharanyasam, this is apt way to conclude the Tirunakshatra Mahotsavam. Like Andal’s offering when the Margazhi Nonbu is culminated Akkaraadisil was the offering today. After Satrumurai, Theertham and Sri Sathari, maryadai was done to the mudrakartha swami, aradhakars, who organised the function efficiently and ensured proper conduction of the Mahotsavam. Madapalli kainkarya paras deserve special mention for putting their heart and soul in preparing huge quantities of delicious prasadams and serving it to everyone assembled without losing their cool.
