On November 1, 2013; Vijaya Varusha Aippasi Hastham, the annual Pavithrotsavam at Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Srinivasa Mangapuram concluded. On this day, Poornahuti took place well. Earlier in the morning, Snapana Thirumanjanam to the processional deity of Lord Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy along with His consorts was performed.
During the 3-day Pavithrotsavam starting today, homam will be conducted in the specially prepared ‘yagasala’on Day 1 (October 30,2013), Snapana Thirumanajanam and Pavitramala Samarpana took place on Day 2 (October 31, 2013) and Poornahuti on the concluding day (November 1, 2013). The objective behind performing ‘Pavithrotsavam’ every year in the temples is to seek the pardon of the deity for any act of commission and omission committed inadvertently by the priests, by the temple authorities or by the visiting pilgrims and restore the purity in its original pristine form.
The grihasta devottees could pay Rs 500 for two persons and take part in any one of these three days. They will be presented with one Pavitramala, one Uttariyam, one blouse piece and Annaprasadam. Meanwhile, TTD has cancelled Swarnapushparchana seva on October 29, 2013 following Pavitrotsavam Ankurarpanam. Further, there will be no Arjitha Kalyanotsavam, Satakalasabhishekam, Thiruppavada Seva from October 30 to November 1, 2013 on account of Pavitrotsavam.
