On November 17, 2013; Vijaya Varusha Karthigai Bharani (1am naal), Thirukarthigai was celebrated in a grand manner at Sri Vilakoli Perumal Divya Desam, Thiruthanka /Thoopul, Kanchipuram. As the name signifies, Deepa Prakasar (Vilakoli Perumal) enlighten us by giving Gnanam as light from the Darkness of Agnyana. Several lamps (thiruvillakku) were lit followed by Deeparadhanai for Perumal, Thayar and Acharyas. Thereafter, Perumal had purappadu and witnessed the burning of the SokkapAnai which was built out of dried leaves. These are some fo the photos taken during the Purappadu and Sokkapanai.
