On November 17 2013, Karthigai Bharanai, Thirupavithrotsavam concluded in grand manner at Sri Kothandaramaswamy Temple, Vaduvur. The Annual Pavithrosavam (purification ceremony) was celebrated for 7 days from 11th to 17th November, 2013. As the name indicates, it is the purification ceremony which is conducted to get rid of the mistakes (nivarthi) that occur in the daily worship and other religious rites performed in the temple. It is a well prescribed ritual , where the archakas prays for forgiveness for all lapses–conscious or otherwise– in the daily worship.Homam was conducted at the yagasala for 7 day, with 60 aradhanam per day on first 6 days and 5 aradhanam on 7th day to mark 365 days. On the concluding day Theerthavari and satrumurai took place in the morning and in the evening Kaisika Purana Naatyam took place and lot of bhaagavathas took part in the utsavam at Kothandaramaswamy Temple, Vaduvur.
