Today, November 30, 2013; Vijaya Varusha Karthigai Chithirai (14am naal), Vanabhojana Utsavam took place at Sri Veeraraghava Perumal Temple, Thiruvallur in a grand manner. The utsavam took place in the newly renovated “Thanappa Naykkan Mandapam” which also houses the newly constructed “Ghoshalai” and a garden. The Ghoshalai has around 75 cows and calves put together and is well maintained. The renovated mandappam and ghoshalai is situated opposite the Thiruvallur Collector Office which is around 3 km from the temple.
Gho poojai was performed at the newly constructed Ghoshalai and Emperuman showered His blessing on the devotees and the cows. Pasum paal (cows milk) was distributed to the Bhaktas after amsai. The devotees also fed bananas to all the cows.
Later in the evening, Carnatic music by Mambalam Sisters took place. In the evening, Perumal returned to the temple amidst lot of fireworks and music. Several astikas participated in the utsavam and received the blessings of Thayar and Perumal.
