When Madurakavi Alwar requested Swami Nammazhwar to have his Divya Mangala Vigraham, he was asked to distil the water (காய்ச்ச) of river Thamrabarani. Madurakavi Azhwar started distil from Tamil Month visagam and Swami got the Divya Mangala Vigraham of nammazhwar on Masi Visagam.By remembering this day it is celebrated grandly as Swami Nammazhwar Masi Utsavam at Arulmigu Adhinathar Azhwar Thirukovil, Azhwar Thirunagari. The utsavam is scheduled to begin on 8th of february and concludes on 22 of February 2014. All astikas are invited to attend the Utsavam and get the blessings of Swami Nammazhwar and Polindha Nindra Piran.
