Today, January 16, 2014; Vijaya Varusha Thai Punarpoosam, Day 6 of the Irapathu Utsavam was celebrated at Sri Ranganathawamy Divya Desam, Srirangam. Today, Sri Ahobila Muth’s Poliyan Sirappu took place. Namperumal came in purappadu from Moolasthanam via Paramapadavasal and reached Thirumamani Mandapam situated in 1000 pillared Mandapam. Anusandham of Thiruvaimozhi was done during Irapathu. Thiruvaimozhi 5-2 Poliga Poliga pasuram predicts the advent of Ramanuja who would make all the doshams of Kaliyugam go. The earth would be filled with Sri Vaishnavas dancing and singing Perumal’s glories. Sorrows, diseases, enmity, hunger would vanish and Viparitha gnanam would be destroyed. Adivan Sathakopa Yathindra Mahadesikan, the Mahan who established Sri Ahobila Muth and was the first Srimath Azhagiyasingar, was so overwhelmed on listening to this pasuram He sent upharams, etc for Namperumal. The tradition continues to this day.
