Today, January 30, 2014; Vijaya Varusha Thai Uthiradam, is the varusha Thirunakshatram of HH 42nd Srimath Azhagiyasingar, popularly known as Injimedu Srimath Azhagiyasingar, of Sri Ahobila Mutt. Swami’s Brindavanam is at Thiruvallur, where Thirunakshatram was celebrated grandly today. HH 46th Srimath Azhagiyasingar, Srivan Sathakopa Sri Ranganatha Yathindra Maha Desikan who is on sancharam to Thiruvallur was present during the Thirunakshatram celebrations.

HH 42nd Srimath Azhagiyasingar took avatharam in the Srigramam called Injimedu (which was established by our 6th Srimath Azhagiyasingar) in Bahudanya varsham Thai Uthiradam day.  He accepted sanyasam in Sukla varsham Chitra masam (April 1929) and assumed the tirunamam SriVan Sathakopa SriRanga Sathakopa Yathindra Mahadesikan. 41st and 42nd Srimadh Azhagiasingar were together for 13 years. In Vishu varsham Aippasi month (October 24, 1941) HH had His Pattabhishekam. Swami made and kept up three promises: 1)To establish a Veda- Prabhandha shastra Patasala, 2)To start a magazine called SriNrisimhaPriya and 3) To establish a Mutt in Mumbai. Like Udayavar HH fulfilled all three vows. Madurantakam Patasala has produced scholars of repute and is an institution of reknown. Sri NrisimhaPriya is a name to reckon  with and is a leading SriVaishnava monthly and the Mumbai Muth is a pride to our Sampradhaya. On His Thirunakshatram day let us remember the upakarams done by HH and fold our hands in Anjali. Padhur Puranam Saralakavi Sri Raghavachari swami has created a grantham containing 500 slokams called “Vaibhava Sudha”  in praise of Injimedu Srimadh Azhagiasingar.
