As part of the ongoing Thai-Ther Utsavam, Today, 8 February 2014, Vijaya Thai Krithikkai,; NamPerumal emerged on the streets of SriRangam in Sesha vahanam. Sesha is kainkaryam personified. when Perumal walks Sesha’s hoods form an umbrella, when Perumal sits Sesha becomes the seat, the simhasanam and when Perumal stands Sesha becomes padukas. Devotees assembled in the vahana mandapam had the fortune of NamPerumal’s dhrishti falling on them early in the morning at 5.15 a.m. as He came out in the beautiful Sesha vahanam, dressed in purple silk and ornaments. SriRangam Sesha vahanam is a beauty to behold. Eight golden elephants hold the Sesha Peetam which has a prabhai on it and the five golden hoods form a canopy for NamPerumal. The Elephants of the Seshavahanam are standing on Tortoise that is Kurmam, At the back of NamPerumal at the feet of Sesha we spotted Garudazhwar with folded hands.
It being Saturday the crowd was big even in the early hours and we spotted a group of students on a study tour of the temple. As the purappadu proceeded on the Uthira Veedhis bhakthas drank the beauty of Nam Perumal on the golden Sesha vahanam and offered their pranamams and prostrations.
