Today, 9 February,2014, Vijaya Thai Rohini: is the 6th day of NamPerumal’s Thai-Ther Utsavam also known as Bhupathi Tirunal. At 5.15 a.m. after the dasamurthis returned from their survey, NamPerumal left Vahana mandapam in Karpagaka vriksham. Karpaga vriksham is a wish-fulfilling tree found in devalokam. Given a chance to wish what would we wish for? Maybe wealth, health or something on these lines. But Sri Vaishnavas have a permanent Karpagavriksham in NamPerumal who is the giver of moksham. He gives Himself to His devotees so we need not ask Him anything. He will give us what is Hitham (good) .
The Karpagavriksha vahanam of SriRangam is a beauty to behold. On a peetam (seat) of gold is a golden prabhai with Shanku Chakram engraved on either side, above the prabhai are Sesha’s hoods and above this is the crescent shaped Karpaga tree with beautiful engravings. When seen from the back we can see Sesha twined thrice round the tree. But the prayogam (use) of Karpaga Vriksham is realized when NamPerumal stands under it. He thus fulfils the wishes of the Karpaga Vriksham. NamPerumal dressed in brown silk with kasu malai, and pendants of varying sizes blessed everyone. Today NamPerumal will be in Sukravara thoppu from 10.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
These are some of the photos taken during Purappadu…
