On 22 April, 2014,Jaya Chitrai Utthiradam; was the fourth day of NamPerumal’s Chitra Ther Tirunal. Evening at 6.00p.m. NamPerumal left Arya Vysa Asthana Mandapam on Garuda vahanam.Devotees gathered in large numbers along the route to have darshan of Perumal on the golden Garuda vahanam. At Poundrikapuram crossing on Melur road Perumal came at about 7.00 p.m. The crowds kept swelling and everyone was worried if they would be able to see Perumal and Garudan. As the two torches were sighted at a distance the crowd grew impatient and the melodious notes of the nadhaswaram soothened their nerves. NamPerumal could be sighted at a distance with the golden umbrella above .. As the procession moved Garudabhaghavan’s tilted Tirumukhamandalam oozing satvikness was spotted, then the golden wings and outstretched palms and the white silken dhothi with a broad green border.
NamPerumal’s crown of pearls Kasthuri tilakam and benign smile reached everyone assuring us that when He was there to protect us why worry? The procession moved along North,East and South Chitra streets and entered inside Ranga Ranga gopuram and waited at Tiruvehndikaapu mandapam for Harathi. From there to vahana mandapam and to Kanadi arai by 9.30p.m. The question on everyone’s lips was “Where is Perumal?” At Dasavatharan arch, on North Chitra veedhi, take the Thayar sannidhi entrance to have darshan, get to Chitra ther corner via white gopuram and finally rush to vahana mandapam was the answer we gave to devotees at different places. NamPerumal is saulabhyam personified and visits every nook and corner of SriRangam and around to ensure the well-being of His children.
