On 4 May 2014, Jaya varusha Thiruvadhirai, Emperumanar Thirunakshatram was celebrated in grand manner at Sri Adhi Jagannatha Perumal Temple,Thirupullani. This year it is a special for us. Even though every year we celeberate this great day at Sri Udayavar sannithi at Thiruppullani Temple, the celeberation would be very simple — with thirumanjanam and ghoshti. To the best of my knowledge, Sri Udayavar did not enjoy mangalasasanam at Perumal Thayar and Raman sannidhis inside the temple. Instead malai, theertham Satari mariyathais from Perumal would be brought and offered to Sri Ramanujar. Despite many of us tried for mangalasasanam and thiruveethi purappadu, somehow that could not be done . But this year thanks to the efforts of Sri Sathyanarayanan and Sri Venkatesh, both brothers and lawyers at Chennai and grand sons of Maniyaram Srinivasa Iyengar, who on hearing this, approached the temple administration and sponsored the event . And hence, Sri Ramanujar enjoyed a very elaborate alankara thirumanjanam, sevakalam by adhikaris and mangalasasanam at all the shrines inside the temple. Thiruveethi purappadu alone could not be done in view of the mruthsangrahanam for Chitthirai brahmothsavam today.
These are some of the pictures taken on the occasion..
