The three-day annual Vasanthotsavam commenced at Sri Padmavathi Thayar Temple, Thiruchanoor, on May 13, 2014. On this Day 1, between 3 pm and 4.30 pm, Snapana Thirumanjanam was performed to Thayar. On Day 2 (May 14, 2014), Thayar had purappadu around the Mada Veedhis in a golden chariot. Vasanthotsavam is performed to give a soothing relief to the deity from red heat sun in an aesthetic environment. TTD has cancelled like arjitha sevas like Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva in view of vasanthotsavams.
